Ernesto Tatafiore's exhibition, titled ' Filosofico - Utopico ' opens on the 26th of July at Museu de Arte Contemporanea de Niteroi, Rio de Janiero ( designed by the architect Oscar Niemeyer ) and continues until 28th September, 2008. The exhibition catalogue is published by Massa Editore and includes essays on Tatafiore's work by Luiz Guilherme Veraga, Michele Bonumo and Marco Franco.

Philip Braham is represented in this year's RSA exhibition with a large painting from the new 'Drift' series. In his review of May 16th in The Scotsman Newspaper, Duncan Macmillan wrote that the work, an interplay of light between a big dark sky and wind-blown golden autumn leaves, is 'very beautiful' and a surprising new departure from Braham's familiar landscapes. The exhibition continues until 25th June at The Royal Scottish Academy,The Mound, Edinburgh.

An exhibition of an important private collection of Fetting's works titled 'Rainer Fetting and the Moritzplatz Painters' will take place between 9 August and 5 September, 2008 at Stadtshalle Merzig, Zur Stadtshalle, 66663 Merzig- Saar. UPDATE (17.07.08): this event has been postponed due to organisational reasons. New dates will be posted when announced.

Later this year, Fetting's sculpture retrospective 'Ruckkehr der Giganten' will open to the public on 7 December, 2008 ( until 22 February, 2009 ) at Gerhard-Marks-Haus in Bremen.

Paul Goodwin's 'Orion Quintet', oil on 5 sheets of prepainted steel, was comissioned by International Corporate Art on behalf of Royal Carabbean International for 'Independence of the Seas', a new ship that will be the largest to be home-ported in Europe.


The painting will occupy an important 5 x 3 meters space and the ship will be launched in mid 2008.

By invitation of the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in France and the director of the Czech Cultural Centre, Mila's work will be available for viewing to the French public for the first time in this solo exhibition. 'Paintings of the Eighties - the Marx Collection' is the title of an exhibition of works by artists that became renowned during that decade. Important works by Rainer Fetting in this collection are currently on display.

The London Design Festival will take place in various venues around London in late September 2007.
Paul Goodwin's paintings on stainless steel will be part of the event in a show titled ' Freehand ' at Mint Design, 70 Wigmore Street, between the 15th and 25th of September. The show will also feature exclusively created designs by Lene Toni Kjeld, Joost van Bleiswijk and Silke Warwo as well as a selection of works by this year's British Design Graduates.

'Die Expressive Geste' (The Expressive Gesture), 7 June- 2 September, 2007, presents the synthesis between German expressionism through the works of Kirchner, Schmidt-Rottluf, Nolde and Pechstein, among others, and African art.
The contemporary segment of the show is represented through paintings by Luciano Castelli and sculptures by Karl Manfred Rennertz.

An exhibition of Ernesto Tatafiore's works in the Grosshaus Collection opened on June 10, 2007 and goes on until May 25, 2008 at Schloss Gottorf-Schleswig.

The works on show, acquired by the Grosshaus Collection over many years from various exhibitions in Europe offer a survey of the artist's central themes and his expression of them through a variety of media.

Rainer Fetting's paintings and sculptures of Helmut Schmidt will be exhibited at Villa Grisebach (Fasanenstrasse 25, D-10719 Berlin) from 23rd June until the 19th of August, 2007 in a show titled 'Kunst und Kanzler' about the representation by various artists of Germany's Chancellors.
Fetting's important body of work was also shown between the 27th of March and the 20th of April in a public exhibition at the City Hall Gallery (Rathausgalerie) in Munich.

Rainer Fetting's work will be exhibited at the Bologna Art Fair ( 25 -29 January,2007) by Studio d'Arte Cannaviello.
His new paintings and sculpture were exhibited in a solo exhibition between 10 November and 22 December, 2006 at Galerie Pfefferle in Munich and at the Cologne Art Fair.

Mila's solo exhibition 'Of Myths and Mind Games' opened at the Czech Centre, 1109 Madison Avenue, New York on 30th November and continues until the 4th of January, 2007. Includes her assemblages, collages and screenprints on glass. The show was featured last month in Washington DC at the Embassy of the Czech Republic between 17 October and 10 November.

'Vesuvio in Flamme, Vesuvio a Colori', an exhibition on the theme of Italy's famous volcano is currently on-going ( until 19 November, 2006 ) at one of Naples' landmark venues and includes Tatafiore's work on this subject , which he has frequently painted and sculpted since the beginning of his career.

Rainer Fetting's sculpture of Helmut Schmidt, who was Chancellor from 1974 to 1982, was unveiled in a ceremony last week in Frankfurt. This is Fetting's second sculpture commission of a German Chancellor- the first was in the 1990's of Willy Brandt whose statue stands in the main lobby of the SPD party building in Berlin.

A new publication on his work is now available with over 300 illustrations of drawings and paintings realised between 2001 and 2006.
